Scorecard
A late partnership of 96 between Sourav Ganguly and David Hemp rescued Glamorgan from another perilous position but they remain in trouble against Kent. Ganguly and Hemp played their shots after coming together at 79 for 3 in reply to Kent’s massive 568. They had earlier batted for over 158 overs as Martin van Jaarsveld reached a career-best 262, adding 149 win Min Patel, who made 87 before he was removed by Robert Croft. Glamorgan’s misery was compounded as No.11 Martin Saggers hit 45 from 71 balls with three fours and two sixes. Croft and Dean Cosker both sent down for then 40 overs as Glamorgan were made to toil. But they didn’t find batting so easy as Andrew Hall removed Daniel Cherry, Matthew Elliott was run out and Amjad Khan bowled Michael Powell.
